The first day of the JUA is often the most chaotic so I'm pleasantly surprised at how well everything is going (knocking on wood!). The arrival went well and all the groups I've heard from are having fun and learning things.
Often it takes students some time to adjust to learning this way. As I talked about last night in the evening meeting, for many students the JUA is more like a couple of days at work than at school.
Not only are many students unused to the pace, type of exercise and food on the go, but learning at this level of high engagement is also exhausting!
I'll have more to report as groups roll back in this afternoon to check into the hotel and change gears for afternoon and evening programs.
For now - everything is going along well!
